Skies, Skeins, and the flying swelruC

Little Bunting

Apparently Hummingbirds are the only avian species which are able to fly backwards.
Well...for the record, at Burnham Overy last Saturday,in the teeth of the 50mph winds
battering East Anglia at the time, I saw a Curlew doing the same manoeuvre as it rose
unsuspectingly above the relative shelter of the sea wall.

Some shakey video of the Burnham Overy Little Bunting.
Nice to see in Norfolk...better to see at Lashford Lane Fen!!
YEAH IN YOUR FACE WICKENS IN YOUR FACE!!!
The human need to seek out shelter and warmth saw a pied blur heading pronto for the RSPB Titchwell reserve which not only offers some respite from the elements inside the space
age hides but is within sniffing distance of a vegi pasty from the cafe there.

Gulls (nuff said get over it)
 Grey Phal
 Avocet (rather wisely staying grounded)
 Custard faced panda Lark
Adult Med Gull ( Yes another one...It's becomming a bit of a regular feature on this blog)

  1. Another good report with the usual high quality camera work, but vegi-pasty uuurrrgh take care Badge or you'll end up looking more pasty than the targetted pasty.

  3. I must admit you really put me to shame because i've never seen a 'Custard Faced Panda Lark' in fact sin of sins i've never even seen a Horned Lark perhaps I should get out more and further, the problem is I know as soon as I leave my natural habitat I will be thinking 'i'm missing all manner of rare things back home'
I expect there is a scientific name for the condition something like patheticness. No! Badger I think it's marvellous you Sett your sights high.
